Death Penalty

Me and my friends are doing a very serious debate on the Death Penalty, and I could even include you guys in it, like more than 50% of people from sdtm forums think it should be abolished, and I also just wanted to know all of ya'll opinions.

Well if the someone killed someone else on purpose then yes.

In fact criminals have it good just a needle in the arm and i'm sure the victims had it worse, ya know, getting beaten, raped, stabbed, shot, burned, poisoned...the list goes on.

So I say keep the death penalty.

I agree with Templar. Plus if you put a murder to death, it is guaranteed they will not kill again.

I vote No....don't abolish the Death Penaty......Well in extreme cases keep it running.

If you are a Terrorist, you deserve to be locked up in Solitary comfinement for life...

If you are just a murderer, but planned to kill.......death sentence is valid

If you killed someone through stupidity or plain accident, a 20 year sentence max is Ok...

The death sentence should only be used for cases like Terrorism, mass murder, and more serious stuff...

All other crimes should incur harsh sentences, that reflect the seriousness of the crime..

I'm not fully yes to abolish it, but think, what if the person was innocent. I saw online that there is a 68% error for death penalties.

My sister did this same thing about the death penalty. But yes, DI think they should have it if someone kills someone on purpose or like Slng said, if they are terrorists, keep em locked up because if you put them to death penalty, they would probobly want to die then spend their whole life in prison, i mean which one would you rather do?

The death penalty is a tool. Just like doctors, carpenters, IT, and cops... the courts (and ultimately the people, us), need to have all tools available to do our job and do it right. We may not use that tool every time, but it is sure nice to know that it is there if we ever need it. just my #2cents#.

But think, you'd have to have a whole ton of money to keep doing the death penalty, if you kill someone with it, and they are innocent, then you are wasting money!

Another thing about the death penalty and Terrorists....

If you Kill the terrorist for attempting a terrorist act, you are going to make them a Martyr for their cause......

They win.....

Keeping them locked up in solitary confinement, prevents martyrdom and takes away any of the "religious prestige" for the cause.....

I don't think it should be abolished. In fact, I think it's not punishment enough for some. I guess you do have to worry about the person being innocent, so, I think if there is 100% proof that the person killed someone, and it definately wasn't an accident, then hell yes the person should die. But if there's any room for doubt, than just give them life in prison, though sometimes i think that's even worse than death.

I vote yes, let the death penalty go away!

Like already said by others, the Death is an easy way out for the criminals and terrorists and murders...
letting them rot away in a small cell makes them think about what they have done (or prepared to do) and realize it is not accepted by the rest of the world...

I vote no because I see most terrorist especially those who are hugely linked with religion know that they are devoted to their religion and stick to their oath so i reckon letting them rot in a cell all their life wont do anything.

And those other people people who commited big crimes, you dont know if they'll do it to someone again.

It is a pity that Australia dosent have capital punishment but that gives a bad face to us and they say it agaisnt humanity rights.

Half the criminaly insane crackheads want to die. I say keep it, but I would personaly want them to suffer for the rest of their lives in a cell.

Same thing with the Muslims. Not being racist, but the extreamists do all those car bombings. Like sling said they are martyrs...they die for the cause of something they believe in....not on accident but on purpose.

The extreamist Muslims believe that Western Civilization (ESPECIALLY the us) and the Jews should be wiped out.

The president of Iran just so happens to be an extreamist...and he has nuclear weapon funds....and underground facilities...

So yeah.

i say that the death penalty is so so.If you just send them to jail for murder,20 year sentence, when they come back they should be ok.But if they do again then it makes sentence about the death sentence.

Whereas people who go to jail and are sentenced to death,it makes no sentence you are just arresting them and killing them.Its almost as bad as them murdering others.

You all know how I am more or less against it, now I feel they should keep it more because if how you guys say terrorists kill and should die, then people in the nation then fin out about them and know they are going to be sentenced to death.

Then that kinda acts as a threat to all people living on this planet. But those people with no souls and no hearts just kill and get their selves killed. I feel now more half and half
