ok, my thought on the whole death penalty thing is that it should stay, but i feel that, and this may sound cruel, that however u may have tortured or killed someone, u should be killed in the exact same way, it sounds harsh but imagine being the person that has to be tortured for 7hrs in extreame pain while ur murderer enjoys it, then when ur murderer is kiled the only pain he feels is a needle in the arm, cmon, it may sound inhuman, but i think thats how it should be.

What you're saying doesn't make sense, say sopmeone is raped and then killed, you rape the inmate and kill him? Say they use a shark to eat them, or crocodiles, or they saw them in half, or they get highly expensive tools to kill them, how about that?

Death by medicine is too quick and not nearly painful enough, and I do not necessarily mean physical pain.

yes i know the constitution, but think, the person u tortured wasnt killed humanly, and the whole rape then killed, just get a gay guy in their to rape him, hahaha lol joke, im sure he would enjoy that a lil too much lol. i think that it sould be more painful unless the person that u killed felt lil to no pain, but if they were tortured ur punishment shoud be painful thats pretty much what i mean.

Hell spawn,
You think about it.......Recieving the Death sentence is really the easy way out. Hard because you suddenly have to face your own mortality, but easy because it will be quick and painless.
The Death penalty basically is an easy out for those who have committed the most horrible of crimes. Not only will they be given a quick and painless death, they are basically "freed" from their crime, by being executed. Without having to really think about what they did.....
If someone has committed a heinous crime, they should have to face up to what they did, in the darkest most rotten jail, for the rest of their natural life.
Why give these hard core criminals the easy option...make the buggers pay...till the day they die naturally!

I vote that they should NOT have the death penalty. I think life in prison is worse.
I have a story on why I feel so strongly about this that pretty much dominated my life a few weeks ago. Sorry if it's a little #offtopic#
I was wrongfully accused of stealing 300 dollars worth of laptop batteries at my high school and expelled. I was shocked to say the least... I fought the call by having meetings with the disciplinary board and 3 with the president of my school. The president turned the call around and I was given an apology. But it was total hell for 2 months.
And what if someone is accused of murder and they didn't do it? They should have as much time as they want to try to appeal and prove themselves innocent. Sorry I went a little off topic but that was the only thing on my mind for 2 months...

I must disagree on the 'death is the easy way out'. If you had a choice, would you rather a) spend the rest of your life in prison, with libraries, exercise, and visits, or b) face the electric chair?
I'd MUCH rather live than die. From what I've heard, almost everyone facing execution resists it rather than welcome it. Life in prison isn't pleasant, but it's still life.
Plus, so many people believe in Hell I figure you'd want to send him there SOONER rather than later. Why give him another 60 years outside of hell, why not send him there asap?

I agree with the "death is the easy way out".
Not just because thats my perspective, but thats actually what these crimnally insane maniacs want. Look at that black guy recently convicted with conspiracy of 9/11 (forgive the 'black guy' comment, I dont know his name lol)....he was scentenced to life in prison.
And on court TV they had a whole thing on him. The host of the show (I think it was closing arguments) said that at least 51% in the United States are un happy with with conviction...which means they wanted him to die.
But think about it- he's a Muslim extreamist. They want to destroy the jews and western civilization....and die while doing it. Killing him would just make him and his followers happy. So lets just watch him slowly rot in an icolated cell, probably getting raped in the showers everyday or abused every 7 seconds. Why make them satisfied? Make them pay.

that's the point, THEY don't pay, WE do. We fork over hordes of cash every year to keep these terrorists alive. I resent the fact that I'm forced to fork over a good portion of cash every year to provide terrorists and rapists with hot nutricious meals, clean clothes, well-maintained facilities, fully-stocked libraries, and complete health insurance. I resent it even more when I see innocent kids getting tossed around in under-funded foster care systems because we sent money instead to the prisons.
Besides, prisoners such as terrorists are put in solitary confinement, so there's no way anyone can rape/hurt/torture them. They basically get free room and board for life. They're not even forced to perform hard labor. If anything, life in prison only punishes us.
