Update on me! (Long read)

Well real life has caught up with me. After almost 4 years of elbow healing, I'm back tearing up the mountains on my mountain bike. Guess I'm looking to break something else....hehe!

You all probably noticed I haven't been around much. I don't think it is going to get any better but only worse. Because I have no time to play Halo or any other game, sad to say, I'm done modding. You probably already figured that out.

I've been watching the number of players in the gamespy screen and noticed a slow decline. Sling and myself have been talking about slowly bringing this all down. Thanks to my cable company, my connection isn't as good as it was before. If they don't get their act together, I'm going to downgrade.

I will keep my webhost for 1 more year, just might find another use for it. If I don't, then makes no sense to pay for it. That leaves this forum.

Right now the only thing I can think of is, delete the garbage, leave the good stuff and lock it up to the public. Sounds like you guys are getting tired of dealing with the poop. Not really sure what to do after that...lol!

I really don't want to just dump everything overnight, but I just started thinking about slowly closing up shop. More like a fade into the sunset kind of thing. The only ones left will be us to turn the lights off.

Because I don't have much time, it still will take time to do this. What do you guys think? Agree it is time? You guys have put alot of hard work and effort into this. You are the ones who are going to make the call on the forum!!

When it does come time to pull the plug, I'd sure like to keep in touch with all of you (except Griffin <--- He's kind of a noob - but you didn't hear that from me).

Heck - maybe we can all get onto another game or something (cough... BF2), we just won't tell the noobs.

Well that would be sad Skelito our time here has been great who knows what might come up in tthe future.
Mountain biking you say just riding the roads or actual mountain biking down mountains. I do a fair bit of riding im thinking of getting a road bike cause the mountainbike weights 16 kgs so I figure something about 7kgs would be better. Seems the weight saving on the bike attracts to my body ,,,,,,,,,,,,,cant seen to figure that one out...lol.

BF2 is good I play under the same name though if your ping is over 200 on US server you get kicked.

Any way were still here for now and I still enjoy kicking butt so see you round.

Well-I'm the new one here and have really enjoyed being on staff for this short while, and I certainly understand that all good things have to come to an end sometime.
Skelito-whatever you want to do is OK with me (although, I will say that it will be a relief not to be smacked in the back of the head every time by Griff when I least expect it, or shot in the grape every time by cutter(jk))
If you decide to ramp things down over the next year, that will be fine. I'll do what ever I can to help.

It will be a sad day when things are slowly switched off, but all said and done, we have certainly made a few great friends from this partnership.

Once Skel decides to switch off his server (If he decides to), we will slowly wind down the forum, but shutting down things like the courtroom, modding centre and download sections of the forum. (Locking them up so no further posts can happen).

Perhaps we can eventully close this place down to the public (ie maintenance mode), and keep this as a place we can remain in touch and gas bag about what we are up to now.....perhaps discuss the idea of having a special get together in Skels server for a bit of fun every so often, just to get that SDTM rush!!


Skel probably never thought that his map mods were going to be so popular and cause such great battles, and end up getting all of us together like this. What a blast we have all had in the last few years!


Now about a possible game to meet up in, you guys should all give silkroad a go....very addictive MMORPG, free to play, and only requires a free download to begin playing! I have been playing it for a few years now, and still find myself stuck to the screen for between 8 and 12 hours each time I sit down to play.

Well lets see what Skel feels is right to do, and until the day when we are to start closing up shop to the public, remain at your battle stations...the US school holidays aren't over yet and we are bound to be hit by Caf and Arb again.....and again.......and again.......and again........and...... (You get the idea ;D)

ohh poooop , darn bugger.. but heck life's short and we need to do what we need to do to make our short life's the best we can and If this is the way Skell needs to do this then well make the best of it ...

So Skell "All the best mate" when you decide to shut your forum down altogether we still can gather at C/C 4 a chat etc..

it now has a "on-line gamers" section with a halo , bf2 and silk-road sections ...

C/C is still 4 the over 18s , to keep those little pests out

and yes duke I can host bf2 if needed..

Also what about Halo 2 on PC using vista is anyone going to

move there in the future.
