SparkEdit Mistake :(

I made the mistake of modding a map outside of the MAPS folder. I copied the bitmaps file and pasted it into the folder of the map i was going to mod. I modded the map with both HMT and SparkEdit, and wen i try to use it on Halo, i get the dreaded "Gathering Exeption Data" message. Is there a way to transfer the mods from the map i currently hav modded to one that i want to mod in the MAPS folder?

try reinstalling halo and keep the mod you modded

ok, the way skel has you do it is change the name, u have the original and the modded right, he has you chnage the original to whatevermap.orig and the modded map to whatever.map, the game reads the one as .map, just change the name, now, if you have replaced the original with the new modded one, then go Here and u can dowload a maps file to replace the deleted one, remember to always make a copy of the original and change its name to whatevermap.orig<------------thats the most important thing when it comes to modding, just incase u screw up

Pop in your Halo CD, go to "My computer", "CD Drive", then Go to your CAB Folders, and all of the maps are in there. So you dont make 100 copies of your maps.

I did rename my original map by addind ".orig" and the modded map is correctly named; but I dont rly uderstand wat the CAB Folders are so i'll check them out wen i get home. Thnx

When i modded that ALWAYS happended until..... I saw this guide heres the part you should worry about

First, open the Halo . Once, it is in the main menu. Hit the start key to minimize the game. I find editing with Halo PC open gets you less exception errors. Open Halo Map Tools. Once opened go to, this is the default location, the C Drive then Program Files then Microsoft Games then Halo Trail then map then click BloodGulcth. ALWAYS REMEMBER TO SAVE AFTER EACH CHANGE. Not save meta but the save button.
