the tutorial was directed, yes. It took many more hours than it should have simply because I had to tolerate a few actors who insisted on doing things to ruin shots. Yesterday just to get this shot I had to ask everybody that was in the server, call for a cease fire, boot the few people who refused to stop shooting, BAN them when they rejoined and continued shooting, ban a few more who joined and would NOT stop shooting, lock up the entire server with a password to keep more from joining, and then things went a bit smoother.
When directing, you have NO control over who will be in the server at that time. It's impossible to get particular people all online at a certain time, so you have to use whoever's available. Mostly they're helpful, but some of them you have to threaten with a permaban just to get them to stop goofing off while you're filming. These few pics took about 45 minutes to get. The first 40 were just to root out the shooters and get them to stand still. Then about 5 to tell them where to stand and how. The actual picture taking took like a minute.
I'm grateful to these people who helped. It's boring work, being an actor, since 90% of the time you're standing perfectly still waiting for instructions. You get tempted to toss a nade around or shoot at hogs (not realizing scorch marks on the wall may screw up the shot). But this crew did pretty well. I'd use them again if they were there.
Oh and the tutorial movie was made months ago. I took these pictures last night, just before I posted them. My next movie will have much better graphics.

Have you seen any of the red vs blue videos? every now and then in a scene youll see burn marks or bullet holes which are apparently from the people getting bored of waiting. lol>
Anywho. Nice pics. Although i would suggest using flycam or something in the future so you dont have the hud or your weapon. they would look even better then.

Nice Pictures Hood, nc]Elite told me about being an actor. No pain no gain though right? Well, this was like TONS-o-pain and just a few nice pics in return. Not sure that's balanced out right... I must say, though, the two PERFECT actors are Elite and Templar. Elite got in his place and stayed so still he almost seemed afk. He held onto that flag, and a few times when noobs ruined the shot (by killing half of us) he promptly went and got the flag again and returned to that very same spot. Damn that was nice to see. Templar was the poor sob who got sniped in the beginning of the tutorial. But he only needed to be told ONCE what to do and he had it DOWN. While all the rest were moving around, goofing off and talking to each other Templar stood right there and didn't say a word. That was SO refreshing. If I could clone each of them a few times we could get the most complicated shots done in a matter of minutes! Thanks again guys! #worship#
