Here's my first tutorial on how to make stuff on photoshop:
In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to make a cool zooming effect on certain parts of a picture. Just follow my directions and you'll get it well. ;D
1. First open up a the file of the picture you want to edit:

2. Start by making a selection around the part you want to "magnify". Also remember to leave room at the top of your selection:

3. After the one part is selected, go to Edit>Copy, then make a new layer, Layer>New>Layer, then hit Ok. Select the new layer and go to Edit>Paste. This should make the selection be on the new layer, but don't worry, as you won't be able to tell that it was pasted by looking at it then. Well, now for the fun part and you will start to be able to see it coming together =D.
4. Now, click on the layer that has the new pasted square on it. Go to Edit>Stroke and use these settings: 1 pixel thick, and make sure the color is set to black(it doesn't HAVE to be, but it depends on what you are making). Now press Ok. The next step is to equip the move tool and move it down just slightly. This part is purely artistic and depends on what YOU like ;D. This is what I did:

5. Go to blending options (right click on the layer with the pasted square in it, it will be under the menu). Click on the WORDS Drop Shadow (NOT THE CHECK BOX!!!) and apply these settings:

6. #thumbsup# Click Ok and you're done! ;D Do this a few times to the appropriate places (again, where you do the other ones is your choice and purely artistic). My final Pic is this:

I believe that Jrnduke did an effect like this on one of his sigs with that blue guy that looked kinda like an army guy that was all "scary" and stuff. So, enjoy! Also, leave some comments of how you liked it, what to do next, how you like the actual effect itself, how I explained it, stuff like that. Thanks! I really hoped this will come in handy because it took about 45 minutes to explain and host all the pics!
