My CD Cover I Made

Something I did for school in computer graphics. We are suppose to make a CD cover, make up our own band name and make a front and back to it, with at least 10 song titles for it. I just finished the front and I made it all from scratch using adobe photoshop 3.0.

Here are steps I took, for anyone who wants to try it out:


First I just drew out a shape with the cookie cutter tool and Chrome'd it out.


Then I did prespective on it, chrome, colorized it (orange), plastic wrap,radial blur, and lightened it up with color dodge (brush).


Next I just gave it a black background, did some strokes with the brush tool (gray color), then I used Color dodge (brush) to make the strokes that were gray to be light and shine.. Then used lens flare(Filter<Render<Lens Flare)


I chromed it out, plastic wrap, color variations and colorized it to give it a brownish looking dark color. Then a Radial Blur ( Filter<Blur<Radial Blur)


I put it togather and got this mockup for my music CD Cover, and added a few more things. Whenever I get the back side of it done, ill post it.

The final image is 17 MB! That is because of the resolution is 300 PPI. This is just a crappy jpg.

The font you used for the words "Fading Away", what was it?

I really like the font, I may just have a use for it!

The font is called Chicken Scratch AOE - Right Click Here, Save As I also
To get the emboss around the font I did Styles and Effects < Layer Styles-Bevels < Simple Sharp Pillow Emboss

This is were I get all my fonts, and their also free, lol
