Ok, most of you by now know that an excellent way for the red team to get the blue's off of BG's center hill is to nade them. When standing near red's tree there's an excellent supply of nades there you can throw all the way over behind the center hill. If you do it right, you get the guy camping there. For maximum effectiveness, toss them in several directions, so he can't dodge them.
Many of you also know that an even more effective way Red can do this is to toss a nuke nade from the left ridge. If you jump and throw it you can get it all the way behind the center hill without putting yourself in harm's way. One or two of these can do the trick.
However, that's not what this thread is about (hehe). If you're the blue guy camping on the hill, sure, you can toss some nades over at the red tree and likely get a few of them, but you can't count on anything. PLUS, the one area you can't see from the center hill is their dark area over to the left (beyond the mouth of their cave). You are always forced to keep an eye out for anyone coming around by their cave, and you seemingly can't do squat to anyone hiding further back. However, that's not entirely true.
When you're on the center hill, if you face directly at the rock in front of their cave, and aim your weapon directly halfway up that massive rock overhanging, any nade you throw will be at the perfect angle to pass UNDER the overhand, but OVER their rock, and will land somewhere around the edge of their shadowed area. Standard nades should often be thrown here, as I've gotten quite a few sneaky bastards trying to sneak up that way, and nuke nades (if you grabbed em) will have them running scared.
I wanted to point this out since most people I see on the center hill tend to walk around in front of the hill to shoot at reds back in their dark area, but at the same time expose themselves to any reds that respawn anywhere else. This tactic will allow you to at least do SOME damage back in that area while keeping back where it's safe.
Note how I'm aimed above the rock, precisely halfway up that overhang. Note also my previously thrown nade exploding beyond the rock. Depending on your position, you can get them further back.
