If you started a dedicated server, it would be located on your computer, using your IP address..
Other players will see it appear in the Halo lobby, as should you when go to look for available servers to play in.
Alternativley, you should be able to enter your own IP address to the direct access section in the multiplayer game section of the Halo game. That should get you to the game (if it is running at the time)....
To find out your IP address open your favoritew web browser and enter "What's my IP" into the address bar....you will then be shown your IP address.....

No, putting in your IP wont work. The dedicated server will be sending and recieving data through the ports 2302 and 2303, those are the ports you play through as well, so you cant connect. youll have to change the ports in halo. Here, someone made a tut on in Link

Did you follow the link i gave you? you need to change the ports halo uses in halos network settings. halo uses 2302 and 2303 and so does the dedicated server. This clashes when you try and connect to your server (the port is tryiong to connect to itself) so you need to change it.

I'll think that you will find that the Halo Lobby is run by Gamespy!!

I see its been said here before, maybe you didn't look, here is a simple way. Hope no one minds.
Go into Halo
Then go into Settings on the Halo Main Menu
Then to Network Settings
Change your port numbers to something like 4400 and 4401.
The problem is your server is probably using port 2302. Which your Halo game also uses to connect to servers. Make them different, and you're set.

if you can't find your server make sure that in your init file you put: sv_name "Snipers Dream Team Mod..."
with the parenthaces; mine wouldn't show up until i put it in there twice... also make sure you have sv_public set to 1... like so...
sv_name "Snipers Dream Team Mod8 {nc]clan}" sv_public 1 sv_maxplayers 8 sv_rcon_password xxxxxxxx sv_mapcycle_timeout 5 sv_name "Snipers Dream Team Mod8 {nc]clan}"
if that doesn't work drop me a pm

Mine works like this
sv_name "Zero Snipers Modded {S@LeeN} 1" sv_mapcycle_add bloodgulch "ctf" sv_mapcycle begin sv_maxplayers 6 sv_tk_ban 2 sv_tk_penalty 2h 1d 7d 0 rcon sv_rcon_password blank
It is not necessary to have sv_public 1 in the INIT file, but it does not hurt having it either. The server will show on the Gamespy list by default unless you make it private by putting sv_public 0.
