My server is at ip addressxxx.xx.xxx.xxx:2309. I used the -port switch to specify the port Router has th eport fowarded. If I try to connect to the server via direct IP all is good. But thru the Halo Internet lobby it shows a port # of 16758 And will NOT connect.
Any idea why?

Some times your router shows different ports then your using.
It used to happen to me all the time, and drove me nuts.
I've also heard that some people cannot connect to there own servers thru the lobby, I never had that problem before.
Can other people connect to your servers.
Also is this gonna be a SDT server, because if it is, theres no use blocking off your ip, It will show up thru the server anyways........
Read other threads in this board, you may find out some new things to help you.

I am not blocking my IP. Yes it will be a SDTM server. No other people can not connect to my server. I have read a number of threads but have found no answers

What do you call this My server is at ip addressxxx.xx.xxx.xxx:2309. Anyways, you probally have to "Forward Your Ports" So I suggest typing in your adress bar. 192.168.1.1 keep changing the last number if it doesn't work. You need to know the password to get into your ports, and the username. IF you have a netgear router, I know the default username name and password is. admin password Once your in there look for a thing called Port Forwarding/Triggering, you'll see something like that. Then choose the port you would like to use, and thats about it.

Sorry i misunderstood what you ment by blocking ports...I used the xxx's cause I could not remeber what the #'s were when I was typing.
I had already configured all ports in the router. I have done so on other cpus so I sure Ive done this right....
ant ideas?

If you've forwarded ports from another pc, it wont work, you have to do it on this pc as well.

In response to people not being able to join their own servers from the lobby: they have to go into their profile preferences and change the following in the networking area: 2302 should become 2301 2303 should become 2304
That allows them to join their own servers from the lobby.
Selkov, is it possible that you have a firewall on your computer? For example.. AVG Windows Firewall Norton McAfee ZoneAlarm
If you have a firewall on your computer, make sure that you allow the ports you are using for your server, and make sure that the haloded.exe application is also allowed (assuming you are using a dedicated server). One common error is to only open the ports that you want to use on your server, but make sure you have port 80 opened also.

UZE, I had already configure the internal game ports. that was not my issue. It is that others can not join my game as game spy / Halo reports an incorrect port # to other players.
zs]Ðëçôý What I said was that I have already configured the router and I have done so before on other cpus..

Ok, I've had this issue before.
Can you tell us how many servers you are trying to host, and which port numbers you are trying to use?
Thanks.
