hey i got borede and decided to make a dedi server, it aint for the mod just a normal sniping one, ive got it all working and everything and it says it is running but it dosnt appear in the list of games, is it just because it is on my computer or can nobody see it? (note: i also looked for the server using xfire and i still couldnt find it)

First make sure this line is in the "init.txt" file that came with the software: sv_public True (mines the second line)

Next go inside Halo and change your ports from 2302/2303 to 2301/2304 under network setup! Give that a try.....

i dont have a router and before you say it my firewall isnt blocking it, i always turn it off, i never get anyone hack into my comp unless its on. well i assume i dont, if i do then they come in and do nothing then leave.

Init.txt file is fine! Did you switch the client/server ports in Halo, under network settings yet???

yes i did. i cant see the problem really, everything is how it should be, i can host normal servers perfectly well, its strange

ok i only had version 1.04 cus thats the newest one i found at bungie

edit: it works! and even though my normal servers lag like hell when there are more than 4 ppl most the ppl in it have pings around the 30-150 mark!!!
