The first thing you have to do is, download the Dedicated Server Software. You can get it at Microsoft's website. Go Here! Make sure you read everything there. You will have to get the Hot-Fix v1.07 also. Next, read the readme file that comes with it. It explain everything you need to know about getting it up and running. Good Luck!

I had the same problem for a while... Do you have a wireless internet service? If your internet passes through a wireless router before it reaches your computer, that could be the problem. Either that or your computer has its Windows Firewall on. Wireless Routers have a built-in firewall that can be disabled, though I forget the address you need for it...(ask Skel or someone)
Once you are in the router(if you have one) you will want to switch the DMZ. But if your windows firewall is up, you can do one of 2 things: go into it and free your hosting port or completely turn it off.
I just turn mine off....

LOL that is funny because thats not how you do it shady you do it through a switch and you dont free anything up in the switch because there is no OS for it so you cant enter it!

I was telling him the EASY way, not the $30 way. That is also an option, but there are cheaper alternatives.

=LD= Members, Shady and Master, its time to stop bickering and give helpful advice...
As you have become aware, there can be several alternative ways of achieving the same goal. So just outlay the way you would solve the problem, and take the bickering to your own forum....
If your solution is different to someone elses solution, that is good. It gives MCR a few alternative methods to try.....
#thx#
