I can't join custom maps why not?

I downloaded Halo CE a while back and i couldn't play custom maps why is this?

sossniper, did you go and download the custom map you wanted to play? These maps need to be in your map folder before it lets you join a server running the same map.

If you can play all the regular maps, but not, lets say the H2CE maps, then this is your problem. Just get nuts and download!

Ok i downloaded the map i wanted and put it in the folder now how do i play it. I typed in the screenshot thing and then went in and hit the tilde. Nothing happened did i hit the tilde in the wrong place or something else?

once you put the map into the file its supposed to be just make a internet game and play it thats all...what did you use screenshot for? theres no use for it anyways.

ok when you download it...it should be somewhere where you can find it for me...for instance i put all my maps i download into a file i made for all the maps i get and then i got to the c: drive and i go to program files...microsoft games.....halo custom edition and i go to the maps and i just send the maps there and i make a internet game and i play on the map...its not really that hard.

I am having a problem alot like this.
When I try to join most servers it says unable to join server.
I dont know why it is saying this, I downloaded most of the maps and I only click on the ones that I have.
Can someone tell me what the problem might be.

another old thread bumped. its either something wrong with your connection, something wrong with their connection or you got an older version of the map they are using.

hey in the map only and that if they cannot see then go to filters and select show custom maps

ok here is how u play on custom maps
u download a map from halomaps.org
than u put the map in the maps folder and the way u get to the folder is to
right click halo ce icon and go to properties and than click find target than
u open the maps folder and than u put the map in ur maps folder
now u open halo ce go to internet under create game and look for the map u downloaded and play on it WARNING some maps r made for slayer only like H2 lockout
