Easy Rcon

Just incase you guys didn't know about this, here's an easy way to use rcon. When you get in the game type: rcon <password> sv_players

Then you will never have to type the password again. Since the Halo console has a history, whenever you need to ban or kick someone, just go into the console (~) and hit the up arrow key on your keyboard.

Get the player's number, then hit up arrow again and backspace back to "sv_" and type ban <player #> Seems to save time typing, give it a try...

this is good IF you ever need to clear your banlist too

sv_unban 0, enter, up, enter, up, enter and so on lol

Well first you have to enable console in the options screen before the game loads (Hold Command/Apple while the icon is bouncing on the dock) then just enter rcon <password> and your command whatever it may be.

Can you do an "Easy Rcon" on Mac also? If you can, post a tut here. This would be good stuff.

Its Really easy on a Mac.

1. When Halo is bouncing in your Dock Hold Down Command/Apple
2. Click the Box that says Enable Console or Console
3. Open halo and make a game.
4. Hit the `, ~ key.
5. Type sv_players which brings up the player number
6. Type vs_ban then the player number ex. sv_ban 4
7. Hit Enter and Voila'
8. Laugh at the NOOB'S face you juts banned. ;D

well for #'s 5. and 6. You have to enter your rcon before you can execute those commands. like so.
instead of just sv_players, it's rcon <RCON> sv_players and after that you can just push the ^ up arrow key and backspace so it looks like this
rcon <RCON> sv_
then just put in your desired command. for example:
rcon <RCON> sv_ban 4.
And poof! Player 4 just got banned!

No not unless he was hosting a non dedicated server

Skelito, doing it the easy way for macs is exactly the same way as what you would do on a PC. Though getting the console to work is a different story.

People Spamming the game? Naming a program?

No program was mentioned here......This thread is about an easy way to use the Rcon system...nothing more..

The only way that the RCON system can be used is if you have the password to the server you are in...

How can you spam a game by using the rcon console without having a password to make it work?
