I have important information of people who have Apple Macs
Recently there has been a update "10.4.10" And I would like to point out NOT TO UPDATE your system to 10.4.10 as I have done. The consequences that I have had have been the machine restarting automaticaly and now it will not start up at all. There have also been a number of other people reporting the same problem on the apple website. STAY WITH 10.4.9!!!

Thank you, Decoy, for your great contribution to this thread.
Sam, I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems. Hopefully Apple will have the problem solved soon. Let us know how you make out.

Decoy, the Mac is built on a UNIX core (same thing linux is built on) and thats what gives it the flexibility to do a lot more interactive stuff that the PC can't do. Thus its still more stable than possibly vista but it was just the update that was unstable not the OS itself.

Same here.
Sam, maybe your installation was just corrupt?

I have been reading many forums and one suggested pulling the RAM out and putting it back in. The first time I did it the comp didn't like the RAM and I tried many times till I put it in correctly (A STUPID RAM INSTALLATION DESIGN BY APPLE). Anyway it had a spaz attack on the first start up and then worked the next. I'll see how it goes and see if it restarts automatically again.

Well maybe it wasn't the update then, Do you think it could just be your ram.......... When I first got my gaming pc I had a Gb of defective ram in there, and the computer would just turn off every few minutes, it drove me nuts.
If PC's and Macs share any similarities maybe thats one.

Worse yet, if the ram was going bad, it could have flipped out slightly during the installation, and screwed something up. Even if you replace the ram (or get it working again), i'd recommend another installation just to make SURE nothing got fritzed out...
