modded mods

I have been thinking about starting a second server and running some skelito mod mods (with a different server name of course)

what "stuff" can i modify that people will be able to see without having to download the modded map, that is, if i use HMT to change the values for scenery like fog for example, can i add fog that people can see without having to dl another map or will they only need to dl the maps if i add scenery items like floating platforms or rocks to the maps?

and I am guessing that when it comes to teles they can be used without downloading the maps even though they wont be able to see them is this correct?

does it possibly break down as simply as: stuff you mod in HMT is visible to all players and stuff you mod with spark edit the players need to dl the maps to see?

trying to figure what i am getting myself into before i get started...

for this you cant add platforms because no one will see it

as for this only some things will be able to be seen and im not quite sure about other people see'ing thicker fog or more of it.

fog is client side, the only things that are not client side are vehicle locations, projectile locations, player locations, spawn locations and damage

ok thanks for the info guys, sounds like i'll need to set up a page where people can dl the maps if they turn out to be worth playing... #smokin#

ya but i would actually recommend that you play or mess around with your map that your modding with all types of different stuff and see how you like it and how everything is set up and then when your ready for people to try it out then you should let them download
