music's nice and all, but it also makes it harder to hear footsteps. You'd never believe how many times turning up the game's regular audio has saved my life. Caves get a lot safer if you're not listening to music... Especially in Danger Canyon, those tunnels are much easier to control if you can hear them BEFORE they round the corner. i would say thats a great idea but.... usually footsteps in danger canyon are followed by gunshots... if i have music playing during halo, its either in campaign or about two minutes after i join a game

i listen to metal (pantera, superjoint ritual, cradle of filth, disturbed,damageplan, etc.) when im not on skype talking with friends... i usually leave the volume on 7-9 with WMP while in game to hear enemy footsteps... music helps make the game more interesting and fun...

i sometimes do listen to music while playing but it distracts me to the point where i cant even think of what im doing at a certain time.
