Ever since I got this new graphics card, I have been battling the fog blues. I know it's there to lighten up the darker areas of these maps, but it sucks. I'm not sure if this shows up on just NVidia cards, or all newer graphics cards. Here's a pic to show you: Now this is all fine and dandy, but look what it does to my zooom: I really hate to try another graphics card, but I will. Oh, I did take the fog out of some of these maps, (for me) and now lookie: The only draw back of doing this is, you have to increase your brighten to show the dark areas. I would hate to release a map with these changes if everyone likes this fog. I am still seriously thinking of trying ATI's x700 pro over this NVdia 6600gt. But if the fog shows with the 700, it's really downgrading the system. Any thoughts here?

actually skelito i think i get the fog too but i could deal with it...it takes time to get used to but if you wanted to just change the sky coloring in HMT....um...change the color for all the 0.24564 ect numbers to like 0.999999 and then that should help

the fog isnt there to lighten up areas, its there to make the game more atmospheric.
ive always played with fog like that (well, apart from on my laptop but that overheats if i play halo for more than 3 mins), by looking at it it may look harder to see people but it isnt, its just as easy
anywho, i say fog is awsome!!!
why wouldnt it show up on other cards? it will show up on all of them unless yours is like 32-64mb or lower (may work on some 64mb ones

The card that came with this system was a NVidia 128 MX440 and couldn't see grass. (slow too) Didn't even support shader 1.1, weird huh! Guess I'm not a fog guy, but I do like the lower fog like in BattleCreek. This is good info coming in. Thought so, it's just me that hates the fog...LOL!

I'm used to the fog. To be honest, I'm not sure if I even see it in BG or in BC.
The only place I have a problem with it is in Damnation in the pit. I can live with that though.

With my zoom I get a slight blurring around the outside of my scope, but crystal clear picture inside the scope.....

I'm used to the fog too. Never knew you could turn it off. It's a nice atmospheric/distance touch, and am so used to it I don't really mind either way. It's not a hindrance that i can tell, CERTAINLY not to my score...

thats a good thing, thats one of the effects a good card gives you, to make it look like the middle bit is zoomed in from the outside bit. anywho, you thinkg that fog is bad. skelito, have you played campaign with your new graphics card? some of the levels (like c10, cant remember name) has really thick fog
