Danger Canyon porter to top (alternate)

Of course, we all know the ORIGINAL way of getting on top of that pillar porter in Danger Canyon, drive the hog/ghost out of the upstairs tunnel and pray for the best.

Many also know the later invented rocket-jump method, seeing that we have 4x health and overshields.

Still, people try and try piling hogs, people, and anything else they can get their hands on to try to CLIMB up to it.

However, just the other day realized that you can get up with a single hog and ghost. Park the hog with it's front bumper right up against the pillar (on the side you normally jump up from). Get in a ghost, come at the hog from behind, and AIM UP so that your ghost's nose aims up high right before you hit the hog. You'll fly about 15 feet up, and if you aim just a bit to the left, you'll find you can step out of the ghost right onto the pillar. Worked 1 of every 2 times I attempted it. Not as safe as the rocket-jump, but you get up there with full health (assuming you're not shot trying to get the hog into position).

Nothing revolutionary, i know, just figured worth mentioning a new (to me, anyway) way of getting up.

Actually, if you put the hog on the left side between the flat part and the slope.. like:

and then do the whole ghost hting, your more likely to land dead on.. works every time for me.

Right now the fastest way for me is, launch a hog out of the com room and jump onto the pillar. The easiest is, oshield, up the ramp, jump and shoot.

z8 REMEMBER THAT PLACE WHERE U GO TO THE MIDDLE WHERE ALL THE TUNNELS MEET. THE FIRST EXIT ON THE BOTTOM , IF U GO TO THE END OF THAT U CAN SEE A LITTLE TOWER. THAT TOWER HAS A HEALTH PACK AND OF U GET N TOP OF THAT TOWER U CAN GET UP IN THE MOUNTAIN. ( U NEED A HOG TO DO THAT)

or use a tank...drive it up there nose first and then get out and hope that the slope of the tank is high enough to get up there with no damage.

you wanna know my secret to get up there.? go up the ramp with a ghost . although it also involves a plasma nade but im not saying how. lol there are really hundreds of ways to get up there.

The reason hood posted this is because on my server, I am currently unable to use custom gametypes we couldnt use the standard method of getting there, we had to get creative and that was the result.

just park a hog next to tower get out get on turret crouch jump up easy as pie. the Os and sniper is the easiest cause Vehicles are easy to see.
