What is HaloCE? Custom Edition*

Halo CE (Custom Edition) is the unsupported upgrade of halopc (totally free, you just need a halo cd key), it has all the features of update 1.04 plus more.

Advantages: Alot of new and different maps to play. Some of these maps have different vehicles, weapons and scenery. The newer maps are based on Halo 2. Sure love the "Beam Rifle".

Disadvantages:
-Lack of players and interest. The biggest reason for this I think is...you need to have the exact same map as the server. If not, it will not even let you join that server. THERE IS NO CHEATING ON CE!
-CE is only for PC. There is no version for Mac as of yet.

you wanna bet

on the lan servers of CE there are cheats you can use in rcon like "sv_spawn_warthog" and others like that. there is a way to get these to work on online servers aswell and can seriously lag the game.

i dont use thes cheats, well, apart from with maps with AI bots which i play offline but they are used sometimes

YES! plus about 500 more. Also some with Halo 2 weaps and stuff. If your playing CE, I'm sure you want to play the others.

Probably what happened to CE is...there are just too many maps to play. One minute the server is full, it changes maps and because nobody has that map, becomes empty.

What is up with playing the original maps?? Custom Edition is all about playing something different. If there are 100 players, 75 are playing the original maps. WHY?

DuH! No wonder CE has problems.

Even though,.....if you like Halo and are looking for a change of pace, this is something you want to check out. Every now and then you come across a game that puts a smile on your face and makes it all worth it...... #thumbsup#

You can play on regular servers, but you have to play with your original Halo, not with Halo CE.

I keep separate shortcuts on my desktop, one for PC, one for CE.

i had d/led a ton of maps with h2_ infront of the name, with all of then it says exception like when messing up in HMT and closes halo, i can play with them in other rooms but not mine, whats wrong and whats the name of the h2 maps in the halo 2 vid for d/l here?

you did try to play them in halo ce and not halo pc didnt you? and do you have the newest version of ce?

i have the newest version of CE and yes i played them in CE and put the maps in the corresponding folder for CE maps. just so this doesnt come up in the future, i know a lot about computers, its just some programs like HEK that confuse me

If what you mean is "can i play online like normal halo?"
