rcon help please

When I try to kick someone, rcon dose not work. i hit the ` key then type rcon pw sv_kick # or name, I get this. rcon command ignored (rcon is disabled) OK where did I mess up? thanks a bunch

you have to enable rcon in your init.txt file. after sv_maxplayers, type in sv_rcon_password "putpasswordhere. hope that helps you.

Stumpy, what you have to type in your init file is just rcon.

So its like

sv_name "name"
sv_blah blah blah
rcon


That should do it for yah, well anyway thats how you enable rcon, but also make sure you have a set password for it.

Decoy i don't understand what you mean

sv_name "name" is this sv_rcon_password sorry I'm just hard headed, and you have to beat it in there for me to understand. like to have never got the server to work, now rcon

In your init file, make a line all to intself with the word rcon in it.

Idk maybe i'm a complete moron, but I always had the word rcon on my init file. On its own line.

i thought he already put it sv_rcon_password ""

THAT IS HOW THE INIT.TXT SHOULD LOOK. MY RCON IS ENABLED AND WORKS.

Don't use the exact preferences on that init for your own, but thats how it should look line by line on your own.
